ICE must be abolished.

That’s the conclusion we at Amnesty International have reached after documenting the chilling pattern of human rights violations across the US during immigration enforcement operations.

ICE’s record of violating human rights has been documented for more than two decades, but our latest findings show that the abuses go well beyond a series of incidents. Instead, under the Trump administration, there is a clear pattern that has reached a new and dangerous scale.

TL;DR: Amnesty International is openly calling for the abolition of ICE for their repeated and Amnesty-documented crimes against human rights, which is pretty worthwhile news. Shame they decided to run it under The Most Irritating Headline™

And we desperately need to stop having kids held in detention centers and representing themselves in immigration hearings. This is IMO a crime against humanity and it predates trump

If Democrats win any chamber of Congress this should be a rider on every bill. Even if they were reined in they’re still heavily armed, heavily funded, and extremely loyal to Trump.

But it probably won’t be on any.

While all federal level politicians rightfully calling for abolition are Dems (and afair Bernie finally got there too), the majority of federal level Dem politicians, including the entire party leadership, consider the very notion unthinkable.
