  • In this case the nuance and intention both are “they admit they knew these were nazi symbols but decided to send them out anyways, fully aware it may cause offense (which is why QA didn’t send them to german users (possibly also because this flirts with being actually illegal in germany))”. So… no, “Nazi incident” really isn’t a bad way to describe it. While you yourself may be ignorant of common nazi symbols (and I envy you that particular source of bliss), you are (perhaps fortunately) not representative of the whole population - and unfortunately given what they’ve said, GOG has made clear they were not laboring under a similar ignorance. This was Not Good before the apology, but that response really made this indefensible.

  • As a heavy CAD user, openscad is a neat gimmick and a great way to teach parameters and it’s integreatability with software tools is second to none, but it’s not useful for doing “real” work - and freecad is a project I love and support because it’s got a great personality. We desperately need a robust open source alternative for CAD to do what blender has done for polymodeling and animation to escape the hell that is the major engineering companies.

Uuuuuuuunfortunately freecad just sucks. At least, right now. It’ll get there, and maybe with people turning on the mega software companies it’ll get there even faster now, but man step one will be kidnapping a UX dev to work on it (and step two will be to fix everything to do with compound faces).

  • The CIA Democrats played a significant role in triggering the first impeachment of Trump, over his temporary withholding of military aid to Ukraine after a phone call to President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump demanded Zelensky help him politically by digging up dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden, whom Trump correctly viewed as his likely Democratic opponent in the 2020 election.

Seven House Democrats with national-security backgrounds issued a joint letter in September 2019 calling for Trump’s impeachment. They included Crow, Slotkin, Spanberger, Sherrill, former Air Force officer Chrissy Houlahan, former Navy commander Elaine Luria and former Navy officer—and later assistant Navy secretary—Gil Cisneros. This was followed shortly by then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi throwing her support behind the impeachment drive.

The message here is kinda confusing, this is all presented like it’s a bad thing? And a whole bunch of the people are just military, they don’t have ties to the CIA (which yeah, not good, I just don’t see how the label fits at all). I’m really confused by what they’re trying to say.
