  • I don’t get what you expect us to do. We’re protesting constantly, we’re organizing politically (very successfully it seems like, we’ll find out in a few weeks), we’re destroying flock cameras and physically driving out ICE from our communities. Hell, there’s even been a steady stream of assassination attempts.

We’re the furthest along, but this infection is global. Billionaires have taken control of our government and media, and we’re trying to regain control. It’s not an easy process.

And money is global, do when you face the same battle I’ll be supportive

  • Ok, yeah that sheds some light on the situation. It sounds like you’re in a gatekeeper role

I think pushing to force transparency is good, especially if you are getting traction on the issue

I have also found that the software in question wants to install 40 more packages from its creators personal website. This isn’t disclosed anywhere. And that is objectively shady af imo - but again, probably not actually illegal.

But this though…That is shady as fuck. Perfectly legal, but that’s a huge red flag. There’s a very high chance they have some data collection packages in there already, it is a reliable way to make money off free software

It also means the security is “trust me bro”. That’s far more disturbing to me than all the legal and transparency concerns put together. They may not be doing anything bad yet, but it means they could sneak it in easily later

  • Is there any sort of legal situation here?

Legal action runs on money… So no, legally I’m very confident nothing will come of it

Ethically? I mean, really ask yourself if your objections would make a difference. Would your concerns be heard and respected, or would you be risking your position for nothing? IDK the situation, but you should consider the situation

Then ask the more important question, if you could live with this or if it would eat you up inside

Your concerns are likely valid, but probably no one will thank you for raising a stink about it. In general terms I personally would probably go along with it since it doesn’t seem like a place where I could make a meaningful difference, and that’s the core question of my professional ethics

But you have to have to keep your own code of ethics. If this violates yours, you should do what you have to do

Be the person you want to be

  • Of course we shouldn’t let their narratives dictate our actions, but we should at least be aware of them and try to avoid playing into them. Know the enemy.

In this case I think you’re correct, but in general we’ve spent way too long letting them dictate the terms of engagement

They’re going to attack our people, whether we give them opportunities or not. I think we need to worry less about playing into them, instead we need to bulldoze through their attacks like the petty insults they are

But I’m this case I fully agree - we need to stop taking the bait when they demand we disavow this guy or that group. It’s a loaded question… If you refuse to “disavow”, it sounds to the low info voter like you tacitly support someone who sounds bad and scary. If you do, it implies there’s some relationship there that you’re betraying. You can’t answer loaded questions,

We need to do more like El-Sayed did… Turn it back on them as the stupid question it is…“I haven’t heard you disavow the Muslim brotherhood, why are you asking me? We all know why you’re asking me, come on, say it”

    Fucking Cinema right there

We need to do more of that… When you’re asked a loaded question, the only answer is make them look stupid for asking.

Ask why some twitch streamer matters. Ask them how many hours a day they’re on twitch. Demand to go through the audience one by one and avow or disavow each person together. Pick some of Trump’s biggest mistakes and ask them to disavow his choices. Bring up his friendship with Epstein. Ask if they’d commit to impeaching Trump if a video of him with a child comes to light

We need to stop letting them control the narrative, and better yet, create our own

  • Literally no, we can’t

Politicians have broken faith so many times that talking about policy doesn’t work. People will not simply vote for their self interest

A good candidate has to dress up their policies in presentation. They have to stand out in people’s minds in a way that inspires confidence with limited exposure

What is gender but a bucket of traits and behaviors we group into a social role. It’s ultimately a mental shortcut - if people see certain traits or behavior, people assume other associated traits and behaviors

The way that people are engaging with the gender presentation of a candidate is really important in politics (and pretty much nothing else)

  • I think a pedo tape of him would still cause problems, a lot of people know he’s a pedo but actually seeing it would be hard for most to stomach. And if he cracks down on it, that would convince most people it’s real

A video of him murdering and eating a baby would very probably lead to actual consequences, just for the sake of the argument. Which would be surprising, but not that surprising…I mean they say every accusation is an admission, and I’m sure you remember pizza gate

It could also be videos with congressmen… Trump himself might be nearly untouchable but who knows? If enough of Congress gets switched out (especially in an Epstein scandal) the new members are much more likely to remove him from office

  • Sure, but realistically billionaires as a community are the reason they are like they are. They’re a group that only really socializes with other billionaires and lives their lives between home and 300 something hotels, resorts, and compounds across the world

The real reason none of them ever break the mold and do something meaningfully good for humanity is each other - their whole social sphere is full of “peers” locked in a twisted game of comparison with each other

Interestingly enough, there’s actually some billionaires who live like actual people. They secretly live like normal people with the security of an endless safety net

  • Yes? Obviously.

There’s plenty of people susceptible to codependency, but it used to take two to tango. They had the tendencies, but didn’t have an endlessly patient enabler to make every little decision for them

Most people get annoyed when their partner, friend, or family member calls them 15 times a day with inane low-consequence questions. They push back. They stop picking up.

I’m not pulling this out of my ass either, there’s better research than this article on the topic. It overwhelmingly says that people who are most affected aren’t necessary the ones that use AI the most or have an AI girlfriend, it’s the people that have begun to reflexively consult the Internet djinn as part of their decision making
