I can’t believe that this era of extreme Trump bullshit, war on Iran, Trump supporting Israel 100, we still have people acting as if being aligned with Israel is the reason to not vote for a Democrat, despite them being far better on three dozen other issues.

For one, he says he doesn’t vote for fascists just as much as he says he doesn’t vote for corporate Democrats. But then he goes on to say while he thinks you should vote for third-party candidates who you really would like to see get elected in some elections, sometimes you need to be practical and vote for a candidate that is not ideal, but better, and could actually be elected, for elections where that matters. Which is also what I’ve always said.

A huge portion of items at 7-11s near me are not marked at all. This happens at some locally owned liquor stores, too - I went to one small neighborhood wine and grocery shop where nothing at all was marked with a price. If I have to walk up and ask “how much is this?” to see if their prices are decent I won’t be buying much.

Conservatives are just not very good with 20th century history. I also ask them if they really think Alabama and Mississippi were electing liberals and not conservatives in the 50s. Sometimes which party the KKK endorses, though that’s something that would get a “that’s FAEK” type answer.

Amazing how these losers will say something straight out many times, then say they never said it and blame it on “the media” that people say they heard that. If they’re confronted with a video of them saying it, they’ll usually explain it away or deflect. I’ve seen a lot of those “ask a maga supporter questions at a rally” videos and the things they say are just so incredibly stupid. As usual, they can’t provide any logic or facts to support what they’re saying. One of my faves is some moron saying that these days, Democrats fly the confederate flag, not Republicans.

He’d probably mutter about how Joe Biden screwed everything up. I started just not talking about politics with him because it became uninteresting. He reminds me of a coworker I have, though, who has a lot of views that conflict with republicans (is for universal healthcare, against religion in schools and government, pro abortion rights, doesn’t support funding Israel or any country) but calls himself a “trump lover” and his answer to any of the legion of criminal things trump as done as president and before is “that never happened”. However, despite supporting healthcare, he is enraged about any assistance to poor people and things like school lunch. Anyway, I never got Store Guy’s take on Iran.

Astounding that with those provisions, the bill almost passed. Republicans are ridiculous.

Yes, it’s very, very common for conservatives to make broad claims, usually insulting, and fail to provide any evidence or logic for it.

I was in Portland when the Floyd protests started. All that really happened was people shot fireworks at a Fed Govt building. A small fire was started inside. An Apple Store got smashed up (I have a cool pic of it) but I don’t think it was left/liberal protestors who did that. Zero buildings burned down in Portland in 2020 during the protests. Still, the New York Post did their dude as a sensational conservative tripe outlet and said “Protesters burn government building during riot in Portland”

They really only think about things that they’re told to in their propaganda media. For example, the owner of a convenience store down the street from me said he voted for Trump because he thought his admin would be “better for crypto”. He has a crypto newsletter with all sorts of stupid links to conservative BS on “X” and AI memes that say “John Thune is a traitor” (I think for not supporting the CLARITY crypto act). Anyway, I mentioned living in Minnesota and he muttered “that state is so damn corrupt…” as if it is realistically any worse than any other state, and as if he really knows anything about it besides the propaganda BS that came from the targeted attack on Tim Walz and Minnesota. Guaranteed a dozen “red” states are more so damn corrupt.
