  • People like you live in a fairy tale, and they always will. That a mythical third party will come along and win with no work towards it, perfectly aligned to court a majority of voters. “No, the Democratic party cannot be reformed. Do not vote in the primary or participate in caucuses. Only a third party I won’t name nor will I give any instructions on finding will solve our problems.”

It’s, frankly, horseshit. You are the same as a fucking doomsayer saying the end is nigh, using numberology to prove it’ll happen next Thursday.

You people want to have a third party in a voting system strictly opposed to third parties. How the fuck do you plan to get those third parties elected with 5% of the vote?

Don’t get me wrong. It’s great for feeling morally superior! If you never have to make a hard choice in your life, you can pretend any problem isn’t your fucking responsibility, not your fucking fault.

Anyway, this guy is either an accelerationist or an operative designed to get you to be apathetic towards voting. Just fucking vote, and do basic fucking math to realize there is no national third party that will save you. If you hate the Democratic party, join your local party and berate the shit out of them to change. That’ll do more than this shit plan of voting third party ever will.

  • Simplicity is childish. And yet you fucking agree with it.

It isn’t complex. The “complexity” is that Israel is a military ally, and we sell fucktons of weapons to them. The “complexity” is that Israel justifies their actions by pretending that the political situation is complex. The “complexity” is that Israel contributes lots of money to various politicians to let them do their genocide. The “complexity” is that Israel pretends to represent all Jewish people and uses them as a shield for their actions and then calls any criticism antisemitism.

The complex part is that the US doesn’t want to intervene, in spite of an internationally recognized duty to do so should a genocide be happening. That’s why people don’t want to call it a genocide. If you call it a genocide, you have to do what you can to stop it. But no, we can sweep the hundred thousand plus dead Palestinian children under the fucking rug.

The “complex” part is that it’s a genocide. Anyone that defends this shit (including you) is a fucking depraved loser.

  • It is truly sad that you believe these things. Especially because your logic explicitly makes coalition building impossible, and thus a revolution equally as impossible.

How the fuck do you expect to build a revolution when you can’t make a concession or work with people you disagree with?

You are the definition of perfect being the enemy of good enough. I get that you want to save everyone right now. Cool. Great. Uh, one problem: FUCKING HOW??? You live in a fucking fairy tale if you think you can do these things. Your ideals kill the people you think you are standing up for, and it is shitty behaviors.

You aren’t doing what you do to save queer people. You’re not doing what you do to save minorities. You’re not doing this for any noble reason.

You are doing this so that YOU DON’T HAVE TO FEEL BAD. You are doing it because the people that might die from your lack of doing anything won’t weigh on your shoulders. And to that, I say, you should feel more of the remorse than those that tried to make things better. Because they tried.

But, you won’t. The type of person who thinks voting third party or not voting will save people are the exact type of people who will say “It wasn’t my fault.” when people die, because they tried one thing that did jackshit.

You can have good and push for better a shitton easier than having perfect from the beginning.

  • Fucking there you go, buddy. Are we going to finally admit that you just want a violent revolution? Good job, if true.

Now, I do have to point out that voting third party and not voting are, indirectly, voting for the status quo, so you did sort of box yourself in with that zingy one-liner. Thanks for the agreement, though.

Anyway, surely you realize that vulnerable groups suffer the most in a revolution, right? So, if you don’t really have them on board, then you are condemning many of them to death. Who is going to join you? Obviously, not liberals, since you refuse to negotiate with them. So… Uh… Do you think there’s enough leftists to make up for that deficit? Because I fucking don’t. I have trouble getting people I know in real life to understand that capitalism is the cause of most or all of their problems. But, if you can, let me know! I’ll be there!

  • Fundamentally, I agree with that. Fundamentally, I am exactly on board with everything you and they have said. And fundamentally, that is not the hand that has been dealt in that situation.

Third parties cannot win a Presidential election in the US as the system currently stands. So, voting for a third party is either a nonvote or a vote for the defacto winner. Advocating for a third party candidate because your candidate lost the primaries is loser behavior. Because you cannot have your way, you’re going home. And if that decision fucks over the very people you are pretending to protect, then you should feel just as culpable for that as anyone that did vote for that.

Fucking like it or not, trans people would be better under Newsom than any Republican. Fucking Kamala Harris did jackshit to defend trans kids, but she wouldn’t be actively trying to harm them right now as President.

It is disgusting to me to pretend that not voting or voting third party is somehow stopping genocide or protecting queer people. It just isn’t. All it does is make you feel better.

  • How come you won’t list a viable national-level third party?

Like, legitimately, you play this shell game where you say “Vote third party” or “Don’t vote” (and you do say don’t vote, let’s not play coy), won’t list any third parties to vote, and won’t bother compromising if things don’t go your way. It’s mental gymnastics so you can avoid any culpability if things go poorly. Fucking just clap yourself on the back right now, you can be so happy that you didn’t contribute to “blue fascism” or whatever the cultspeak is.

Good on you for hating herd mentality, along with fucking everyone else, you George Carlin-quoting individual you. Your unique snowflake melts the same as everyone else’s.

Seriously, how do you plan to convert most of the Democratic voters to your mythical third party if Newsom (or anyone else not good enough for you) is the nominee? Because you cannot convert enough nonvoters to do that, you have to syphon those voters from the Democratic or Republican parties, and most of those Republicans aren’t voting for your shit on a macro-level. Sorry, the political scientist in me just doesn’t fucking believe in that one. If you aren’t willing to conform to them, then why the absolute fuck would they be willing to conform to you?

  • Explain how not voting somehow makes the Democratic party more progressive, and I’ll show you someone whose ultimate goal is violent revolution.

You can pretend that’s not your goal, but there isn’t another way if you refuse to compromise or coalition build. And if that’s your goal, don’t be a fucking coward about it and just admit that from the onset. And then while you’re admitting that, you can also admit you don’t really give a shit about queer people, or you would be following the plurality of them with voting Democratic.

If you set the bar for your leftism at where you are at, anyone left of you can say the same thing and refuse to vote for you and what you believe. Like, you get that, right? You get that anyone can then justify themselves and say what you believe isn’t left enough and refuse to vote what you want, even if it would ultimately save more people.

  • Newsom is a particularly shit person, correct. I would vote for him over any Republican, because while he’s fucking awful, he is a particular type of awful that fucks over less people in general, and he would be the only real viable choice at that point.

At that point. Before that happens, he would’ve been through a butt-fucking-ton of primaries and caucuses and debates and what-fucking-have-you. He would’ve been the popular candidate by that point and solidified the coalitions around him. Because that’s how you build up a powerbase for change.

I get not wanting to vote him, but you make concessions in a democracy. No one likes that part, but how fucking else do you work together? My hope is that Newsom or anyone else gets shoved into the dirt for abandoning people, be they trans, poor, immigrant, or any other minority. But if he doesn’t? I hold my fucking nose and vote for the lesser evil.

Anyway, the point is you didn’t list a third party, and that makes me think you are a fake progressive. Like, imagine saying “I won’t vote” at the same time you say “Vote third party” and complaing the GOP would win. That’s some escapist logic where you pretend you didn’t help cause more issues because you didn’t do anything. Never mind that you didn’t say to caucus or primary to throw out bad Democrats. I’m really just waiting for the accelerationist foot to drop.

  • I mean, they are unlikely to lose the queer vote. Mostly because voting third party is almost entirely useless, especially in the presidential election, but also because it’s fundamentally easier to just change the party from within. Queer people are so much more politically active, too, so this is just shooting himself in the fucking foot. But, queer people are less likely to vote third party, especially trans people, because of that.

Like, feel free to list off any national-level third party you think has an actual shot, and you will be wrong. State-level, maybe but unlikely. Local-level, absolutely possible. But national third parties exist to push narratives, and that’s all.

I get that this will cost him votes, but this third party pushing without even naming any parties is the type of stuff that fake progressives push to destroy collaboration. If you want to push a third party, name it, so you can build a coalition.

  • I would partially disagree with that. I just don’t think you have enough people willing to join you yet. I’d argue that you’re better off telling people to join whatever their closest mutual aid group or even leftist militia group then trying to find people over the internet to do violence with you, especially because anyone here could be trying to push you to do crimes for multiple nefarious purposes.

For the most part, I feel like the people trying to tell people to do crimes they are not doing on here do not fundamentally have anyone’s best interests at heart. So, I’ll apologize for being antagonistic.

  • The admin is definitely trying to make their own little Stasi, but I genuinely do not think it is working for them the way they want it to. They certainly want to use the National Guards of other states because that’s easier to do. I just… don’t think they have the political capital to institute a successful coup? I could be wrong, and they’re DEFINITELY TRYING, but they would likely need someone other than Trump to lead something like that, and the only person I think has any sort of shot is, like, Tucker Carlson, who is certainly trying to leverage a presidential candidacy in 2028.

They’re trying, but they’re also very inept and corrupt, which is sort of a double edged sword, and, somehow most importantly but also not as important as I’d like, not a lot of people like them or their perpetual war to increase costs on everyone.
