Titanium is probably inferior compared to Vanadium, as it likely lacks the OS integration. The team recommends against using Vanadium outside of GrapheneOS for this reason.

While Vanadium might be security-wise superior, Brave has significantly better anti-fingerprinting measures and robust content filtering (blocking advertising, tracking scripts, etc.). It’s also available across devices with client-side encrypted synchronisation, so for many people it’s the better choice.

Claims around ’no-logs’ audits can be misleading, or at best ambiguous to customers. Audits are a snapshot in time: any VPN service receiving a ’no-logs’ stamp from independent evaluators can update its systems and start collecting sensitive data the following day. We have also seen some VPN providers cite such audits as a marketing tool that creates a false sense of security. For these reasons, we will not commission further no-logs audits.

Could you specify what you’re trying to do?
Normal LineageOS has integrated MicroG support, you can install it via the official MicroG F-Droid repository.
I can tell you that LineageOS is definitely good when it comes to security and data protection practices, but GrapheneOS is miles ahead by comparison due to its security preview releases and extensive hardening; LineageOS only applies monthly security patches once they’re released, and it makes good efforts to fix security vulnerabilities itself, like the VPN leak over QUIC, which Google refused to fix.
I don’t know much about /e/OS, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it if it doesn’t have anything you need. I don’t know of any security or data protection benefits it would offer over normal LineageOS. IodéOS, another LOS fork, does have some benefits, but it’s often far behind LineageOS when it comes to monthly security patches, which is concerning. I would therefore recommend sticking with LOS.
GrapheneOS and LineageOS are personally my favourite Android distributions.
“Custom ROM” is technically a false term for them, and LineageOS, PrivacyGuides and other institutions use the term “Android distributions” instead.
No, see Rule 3.

Their website seem very sketchy: https://www.gboxlab.com/
And the App has A LOT of critical permissions: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/6fcbaafbcb033b9e0cc03a5d6acaa54ca6b6cb06d16ce3c2d0657d7addfba257/details

I think you confuse search engines with AI. Search engines are supposed to index, not “steal”. I also questioned the legality, not what your moral compass is saying.

Companies like DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, and StartPage pay Bing and Google to use their search index/API to get search results.
DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, and StartPage fund themselves through search advertising.
Brave Search uses its own search index, which they also sell access to, and they fund themselves through search advertising or an optional ad-free premium subscription.
SearXNG scrapes the search results without providing any monetary value to the search engine providers who are offering the service.

I would much rather not depend on businesses who had manipulate search results in the past. :)

I’m questioning the legality of SearXNG, as it scrapes results from other search engines without paying, from my understanding.

I appreciate the comment, thank you!
I couldn’t fully read it, since there is a paywall after some text.
But from what I’ve seen is just: trust us bro. ✨
Not a single piece of evidence that those claims are true, only a bunch of anonymous employees and one former employee. 😐
