Let’s get back to after 10 years because this was the same debate about drm in browsers and now we have this https://www.w3.org/TR/encrypted-media-2/

science@lemmy.world•I watched some videos on dark matter, both for and agianst. The thing I noticed is most of the time the reason it's proven to exist is because you need it to exist for the univers to make sense.English
12·17 days agoThere is no matter at all. There is only energy. Some of energy is in stable state but most of it is not. We are just unable to expand e=mc2 equation. I think the equation is not complete just like velocity equation was not complete because it was missing time dilation. There must be something like energy dilation. There is exponential decay that in theory is mass dilation but my mind stopped there.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Linus Torvalds uses AI to debug an Intel GPU driver bug
38·2 months agoHe use AI to put print statements, summarize output and describe code based on prints to narrow place of bug. This is exactly what AI is good at. Funny fact is that you don’t need data center scale model for it. You can do it with local model.
The tools are already there, the change is just cost optimization. Your age, post code and your buying and traveling habits identify you anyways. I remember from “Little Brother” how they identified people with the way they were walking. Protagonist was putting some pieces of paper into his shoes.

Technology@lemmy.ml•GPT-5, the world best model just 1 year ago, is today inferior to Qwen3.6 27B that you can run on your desktop
21·3 months agoRunning model that is good at everything require huge amount of energy and huge data center. Those models are mixture of experts. Latest Kimi K3 have 896 experts. Imagine you have company with 896 employees. Each question involves 16 employees to figure out what to do in what area of your business. Like a brainstorm to solve problem. Now if you know exactly what you want and in which area you actually need only 1-5 people. Like an agile team instead of all those people that you have. So you can hire just couple Kimi K3 experts. 16 experts are 100B parameters so roughly 1 expert in frontier open source model is 6B parameters. 5 experts is 30B parameters. You can run 27B Qwen 3.6 quantized into int4 on your computer like other people are doing right now.
I posted link below to example where they fine tuned model ( take it like a employee training ) for specific task.

Technology@lemmy.ml•GPT-5, the world best model just 1 year ago, is today inferior to Qwen3.6 27B that you can run on your desktop
2·3 months agoYou can’t right now because there is no dataset available for fine tuning. I’m just saying that it’s possible to fine tune 8B-35B parameter model in int4 that will outperform those models ex. for single programming language and developer specific problems. You can read example of fine tuned 8B model here https://fermisense.com/when-machines-take-the-wheel/

4·3 months agoThose models are for general use. If you have business use case and data related to it you can finetune model for specific use that will outperform all of frontier models and run at fraction of cost.

When you use librewolf it pops up when websites try to access drm, ex. finance.yahoo.com wants to access it. It’s not streaming services but lots of news webistes that also serve video.
