Nope, I remember it pretty precisely. There was a plastic film that looked like it was meant to be peeled off but wasn’t. If you peeled it off, it broke the screen. But as long as you left it on, things were semi OK. In essence, it was sturdier - the design was “just” confusing for consumers. Samsung fixed the problem before a single device landed in the hands of consumers - which is what actually matters.
The problem isn’t the hinge itself. Laptops have had hinges for ages without significant issues. The problem is the flexible screen that has to bend around the hinge. That’s a significant engineering challenge. A challenge which Samsung is apparently much better at, even if Samsung’s hinges definitely have their issues.
Except even the first generation Samsung folding phones seem to be sturdier than this.
I had a CS6 license. Then suddenly it stopped working. And I can’t reactivate it because they shut down the fucking activation servers.
Unfortunately, that’s human nature for you. Most fascist takeovers happen like this.
Yeah, I was referring to both posters, I guess I didn’t make it particularly obvious.
I saw the video. No, that wasn’t an explosion. No smoke, no nothing. There’s no credible evidence to support that. Let’s not spread baseless conspiracy theories, please.
UTC would be unlikely to diverge from rotational time by a full hour for at least a thousand years, Shemar said.
If humankind lasts that long, it might be the least of our worries. ®
Lol.
Honestly worth a watch. Most people won’t learn much they didn’t already know, but it’s a pretty satisfying takedown.
Honestly I’m not super impressed, even though I was hoping to be, because I would love to see more variety in the space. €380 is not all that much less than the just over €500 which can get you a Fairphone 5. The Fairphone 5 should have support until 2031, the GX6 Pro until 2032. Fairphone has a solid legacy of providing updates, which Gigaset doesn’t necessarily have - add to that, the GX6 Pro has a MediaTek chipset, and those are notoriously difficult to support, the Fairphone 5 has a Qualcomm which is much better in that regard. The review mentions regular lags - problems I don’t have with my FP 5 (unless I’m just not that sensitive). Honestly, the only upside I see to the GX6 (other than the price - but again the difference isn’t that big IMO, especially considering Gigaset doesn’t have the focus on sustainability and ethics) is the wireless charging, which I wish Fairphone would stop being so stubborn about.
Because conditions are getting worse. People are being stretched thin, so they’re looking for a radical change. And the far right is promising radical improvements, even if those promises are full of shit. It also doesn’t help that many leftists have made a sport out of purity testing, pushing away many people who skew left in their political opinions but don’t follow the hive mind.
Add to that, Biden had a speech impediment. That automatically makes things look worse than they are, especially if you don’t know about the speech impediment.
Mind you, I still think he should have stepped away way sooner. Then we could have had a proper primary.
Looking through the Wikipedia article, it should be updated. See studies like:
So no, you’re not factually correct.
Also,
No, but that’s what you have condoms for. Much, much more effective.
Why does this have a “a glass of wine a day is healthy” vibe?
Like, don’t get me wrong, I’m not against people drinking coffee (who am I to criticize, I enjoy my alcohol), it just sounds like one of these studies that is made to counteract someone’s guilty conscience.
How about this: it’s awful in both places. Just because another country started doing it as well doesn’t excuse anything, it means they’re now both doing something unacceptable.
Take anything the lead dev of GrapheneOS says with a grain of salt. He’s a little… Um, special.
It’s not that clear. Hillary won the popular vote by several million votes. Hillary Clinton - yes, that clusterfuck of a candidate. Yes, there were plenty of misogynists who voted against her on the basis of her being a woman. Many also voted for her because she’s a woman.
