Why are we constantly linking to Yahoo’s news wrapper here?

I’ve been seeing this headline more or less my entire adult life, it doesn’t necessarily do any good when people vehemently against it keep getting elected.

Yeah seriously, I was like “what else is new?” You can pretty much assume across the board that anyone in this administration is allowing “donors” to control whatever it is they’re supposedly put in charge of.

Thanks!! I’ll delete my snarky comment.

I wouldn’t doubt that this would totally happen in the Los Angeles area

Define “server”:
If you mean any process that serves on the network well then of course you can.
If you mean multiple containerized stacks acting as a service then yes, you can do that too.
If you mean multiple operating systems, I’m not so sure but I can’t imagine that it’s impossible.

It’s because he’s a fucking parasite

^please clap^

…no? That seems like a rather extreme generalization.

Honestly this immediately makes me think it’s fake news. I’ve never heard of this organization and unfortunately the majority of right-wing media I’ve seen is objectively false. It did make it past my fake news DNS blockers though.

I think if you’re able to safely vote in person this election now’s the time to do it. My fear is that even after the election they’re going to try to toss out votes.

Honestly were I a state government I’d just act as though the federal government doesn’t exist while considering funding. The Fed is like the most unreliable, worst business partner you could have.

I can understand how it works on traditional social media and even the traditional internet at large but how can the software solve this problem on the dark web?
Couldn’t you just host the data outside the US’ and its partners’ jurisdictions on the dark web?

That’s probably true — if it’s he that continues running the country.

The entire headline conveys nothing whatsoever.

Bank of America and US Bank are so corrupt that I distrust any bank that has America or US in its name now, though I already avoid any bank that was part of the 2008 financial crisis bailout.

I don’t use it but I would recommend Kopia due to its content-defined chunking, deduplication, etc. I’m writing a fork of it that allows any Rclone adapter to work as the frontend or backend but it won’t be released for quite some time.
Otherwise I sync most my files to Backblaze by hand from time to time using Rclone and client-side encryption.

ICE sent nearly 500 administrative subpoenas to Meta, Google, and Twitter (now X)
People act like it’s crazy to block ads, tracking and a lot of these tech companies but even if you don’t have accounts with them they have data on you. I think it’s incredibly important to realize that blocking them at the network level (DNS, IP addresses) is really vital — so many things include tracking including mobile apps, devices, etc.
How shitty is the encryption if the password was handwritten?
