Religion is just the tool, it’s the antisocial and murderous reactionary ideologies pushed through major religions that allows it. Christianity in particular does have a lot of ways of condoning imperialism etc but I believe it can be for good, there have been numerous Christian groups that broke away from the mainstream and said that to follow the scriptures required a form of socialism. I was raised with a Buddhist leaning upbringing, and it instilled in me ideals like a respect for all life and different cultures, to persue a harmony between humanity and nature, but also allows a scientific and materialist view rather than pure idealism.

They may disagree with the idea of it but the reality is that China has full power to dominate their sphere of influence if they choose and no other single nation has the means to stop them.

That’s what bothers me about people calling him a ‘traitor’. A traitor to what? Global US imperialism? Massacres of school children, bombing weddings, hospitals? Long before Trump the US has been a murderous racist thug stalking the earth like a demon.

How is a political establishment that directly aids and participated in genocide redeemable to you? Who from the class of genocidiaires can we vote for with the faith that they won’t continue their genocide?
