That likely isn’t sustainable, unless their wealth always grows back and exceeds the tax they paid, by the following year. Also, this sort of tax policy tends to have a negative impact on the speculation market that creates that growth in the first place.
I’m not defending billionaires here, I’m just highlighting the mathematics of doing it every year.

Sorry, that was a terrible post…now edited. He bribed the DIA to give him NZ citizenship back in 2011 and then tried to build a multimillion dollar bunker in wanaka, but the council refused building consent and he abandoned the idea. Unfortunately he still holds citizenship and can come here at any time, which is the point I poorly made above.
A quick search reveals he did indeed move both himself and his family to Buenos Aires, earlier this year.

People can also vote by mail, or even vote early in many countries (for example, 12 days before the actual election day, here in NZ), but I expect you’ll find a reason to have a problem with that too?
