Yeah, Curve’s support is non-existent and it was a ROUGH on-boarding but it now works without issue. I’m satisfied.

Nope. It’s all browser-based. I run Linux and installed GrapheneOS on my various Pixels over the years.

If you’re somewhere where GPS is frequently jammed (such as a warzone, etc.) then it could be useful.
The protocol/spec is maintained by a non-profit, the Matrix Foundation.
Anyone is free to build and maintain servers, clients, bridges, widgets, etc.
The biggest player, Element, of course, is the people behind the original spec but there are plenty of others in the space building compatible but distinct entities.
