If the 2024 patterns held this would be a great move for Republicans. The problem for them is that every indication is showing this will be a 2010 level swing, which will exacerbatethe the extent of the swing.

It’s the gateway to the sovereign citizen phenomenon.

I agree with a lot of the libertarian beliefs, but the people who actually call themselves that are absolutely insane.

Most ranchers aren’t going to process their own beef, especially not at any appreciable scale. Even with reduced legislation the work and equipment isn’t something they want to deal with.

It’s not off script. Not spending a billion dollars on Capitol landscaping even if Congress appropriated that much wouldn’t be faithfully executing the laws.

I’m assuming that it’s a check against Congress just appropriating absurdly large sums for pet projects or for securing donations. The job of the executive is not to blindly follow Congress, but it’s also not to fight everything Congress wants.

Congress has the power to impeach an executive not doing what they want. It’s not limited to just the president. They are happier to just complain than use their powers though.

It’s also not necessarily a bad thing to have an executive not spend money Congress approved. While many likely disagree with how that discretion is being used, it’s not bad that it exists.

The US Marshalls and Capitol Police sort of fill that role, but the real remedy here would be impeachment of Vought. They aren’t mad enough to actually do that though.

That won’t happen without the presidency, but starting to compile the evidence is a possibility.

Prosecution would require a compliant president.

A blue Texas Senate seat is a Democrat wet dream. If the blue wave is actually that big, Trump might actually be fucked.

There isn’t an incumbent in this race. The seat is held by a Democrat that is retiring.

Gangs aren’t forcing you to buy, but they are causing vandalism, theft, and intimidating the locals from reporting crimes, and generally preventing investment in an area that would improve the local economy. It’s a self reinforcing loop.

It’s a necessary evil, and it shouldn’t be indefinite or a permanent black mark. It’s definitely a difficult line. The current laws are too restrictive that warning signs can’t be acted upon until it’s too late. Previous laws were far to easy to get someone committed indefinitely with no oversight. We can get closer to a better balance where a 24-72 hour hold could actually be done before someone is holding a gun at a mall or a school. That hold could also be completely sealed so no one could use it against a person.

Those legal technicalities are the justice system. If the state was accusing him of murder by stabbing and lost the knife and cremated the body he should absolutely be released.

Access to guns is part of that right to freedom in the US. None of what I listed infringes on someone else’s freedom.

Being against education is part of the ban all guns platform because it lets them keep guns scary. If people understood guns their bans would be harder to pass.

A gang selling drugs on every corner and intimidating anyone who doesn’t like it is a pretty good cause of poverty though.
There’s a reason an online school or prison quiz exists.
