3 months agoI used to really like Motorola but their lineup has really gone down the drain in the last few years. The last Motorola I had was a Moto G100 (2021) and I was reasonably happy with it until the battery started expanding in early 2025. When I tried looking for a new Motorola at that time I didn’t find anything that didn’t have completely disappointing specs, so I went with a Pixel 9 pro specifically for GrapheneOS. It was a really good upgrade. The camera is much better, the battery lasts longer and has fast-charging and wireless charging. I hope I won’t be needing a new phone for the next few years but if I needed one right now I probably wouldn’t go with a Motorola, even if I could keep using GOS on it.
Idk man. I’ve certainly become more lenient in Code Reviews because I have to do like 5 a day instead of 2-3 a week, all with like 2k lines of changes. I literally don’t have the time to fully read tests anymore, I mostly just skim them and check whether they have an assess statement that looks somewhat reasonable.
Hell, I’ve recently had a meatpuppet of a coworker brag about how his implementation of a Card component for the UI library had 199 tests. I’m so glad I wasn’t assigned to review that shit. But it sure looks great to the higher-ups 🫠
Hopefully working on the Linux Kernel doesn’t suck as much as working for a big corp.
