Agree. I’m still not doing proper backups on my homelab but this is what i’m gonna focus on next. OP has a good NAS setup and IMHO the focus should be on backing up the DB for later restoration (if there’s the need because it might never happen) and keep the DB on the most powerful CPU and quickest disk.

If you liked Ormachy then I think you’ll feel very comfortable with CachyOS + Sway. (I can’t in good conscience recommend hyprland anymore)
The CachyOS team deliver sane configuration files to start a desktop. Then delve into how to setup greeters and lock apps, it’s usually small changes in each config file with your own images and setup.

I have formal education, from 1997, which serves nothing for the kind of technologies we’re using now. Even though I work in IT (call center) I’ve had to read a lot on networking to make sense of what I wanted to achieve. I also don’t know anyone else in my office that does this so I’ve been relying on online communities and my failures. I’ve learned so much by failing.

It’s not much, it’s probably only been up for a year, no private trackers plus I only dl what I really want to see these days but I try to make sure the ratio is always above 1.
Been doing this for many years on many shapes and forms across different systems and it barely fails to meet my needs.
I also have my music in slskd.

I use Jellyfin but never even thought about it for streaming music.
Navidrome and Symfonium is my choice as well and I could not be happier. I really appreciate that the team behind Navidrome still works on it but it 100% serves my purpose right now.
