My 3-node Proxmox cluster has a dashboard, my NAS has a dashboard, and Home Assistant has a dashboard. Hell, my gaming PC has a dashboard, too (Webmin and Cockpit).

LMAO
The server in its original config sat on the floor of my dad’s utility room, untouched, for years. He hosted a mailing list on it back in the 2000s.
Only $20/wk for 10 years!
Okay specs - 7950X3D, 2x 48GB DDR5-6400, 4090, 1+4TB Samsung 990, all watercooled.
Tf do you mean “okay specs”?!?
I built my PC in 2023, right between the covid GPU bullshit and the AI everything bullshit. 5800X3D, 7900XTX (MSRP!), 64GB DDR4-3600 (slimmed down to 32GB because XMP didn’t play nice with 4 sticks, the other 32GB went to a server in my basement), and 500GB+2TB WD Black NVME SSDs.
I thought mine was beastly 😂
Microsoft has been a shit sandwich of a company for a long time now. They were fully into the “extend, embrace, extinguish” method since their inception.

wheezing tastes like furniture…

Smart. My gaming PC has filters, but this thing is straight through. I should probably consider filters…

My dad was a Novell veteran, lasted a few decades up through both the Attachmate and Micro Focus acquisitions.
No, that’s stupid.
NPM renews my certs for me, anyway.

It cleaned up quite nicely. Very satisfying.

I also kept the original Pentium 4 sticker and the old inventory tag from Novell (long-defunct now):

When it’s all closed up, the only hint that this might not be factory is the large grid of holes I drilled through the top of the case for the PSU fan.

I am sure my friend since the 3rd grade, my brother or my mother will be shocked at my behavior.
You’d be surprised. People get very antsy when it comes to what they think is a private thing. You’re absolutely allowed to look at it, but understand that watching everything your users do is essentially traveling down the exact same road we are trying to avoid with big tech - watching, monitoring, and analyzing our data.

Here’s a good catch-all guide, written by Louis Rossman (divisive but respected Right-to-Repair activist):

Or just ignore it. If you actually read it, it never says anything about you being in trouble at that moment, but it’s intentionally worded to invoke that fear.
Toss it in the bin, and use a VPN or Usenet.

Because it makes the process harder for app developers who don’t fall in line with Google’s “Don’t Be Evil” motto, while big corpos can ship the worst possible data harvesting/gambling/crypto scam/etc apps with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.
Also why they’re cracking down on non-play store apps.

The F-Droid team is already quite aware of what google is doing.

That was discontinued quite some time ago

Proxmox is a hypervisor, while docker is containerization.
Comparing them is like comparing an apple to a glass of milk. They have different use cases.
I run multiple VMs specifically for Docker services. I run other VMs for other things. And LXCs for applications where containerization makes sense but I don’t want to use Docker.
Oh boy, this will turn out well…
Graphene, by default, already comes stripped of google and automatically locks the bootloader during the install process. This is nothing but FUD.
This company is just using Graphene to boost sales of their preinstalled phones. Prime example: they’re selling a 9 Pro XL ($500 phone today) with this fork installed for $1700. FFS.
