I’m willing to give it a try at least once if I get to haggle with the cashierbot over the price of my cheeseburger.
I’d appreciate it if everyone could just stop burning fossil fuels, please. Thank you for your cooperation.

In my feed people who post stuff every hour get blocked or unfollowed, unless it’s really good stuff.

You’d think that “no AI” would be an easy feature to implement, and it’s much in demand. Strange that it seems to be beyond the abilities of so many software developers.

It says that the prevalence of smoking has continued to decline, making the headline a little misleading. I suppose what they mean is that enough people still smoke that changing that is one more potential way to further increase life expectancy — but if they simply said that directly it wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

I too had a ghetto blaster, which must sound pretty weird to people young enough to have never heard of them.

Not everyone interested in piracy acquires all of their games that way, and even those who do sometimes buy them on Steam anyway — for example to support the publisher. Not that Gog isn’t better, but Steam obviously has most of the market.
This is a piracy-oriented community, so …
So there tend to be a fair number of gamers around.

Weird that Myspace is still “owned” by someone when it’s spent so long not being a thing that exists.

If you’re willing to ask even this ridiculous question here in public, I’m not sure why you’d need to go anywhere else.

I wonder how Cloudflare estimates the increased rate of false positives they’re getting after they made their bot detector even more oversensitive in recent weeks. It no longer likes my default javascript-enabled browser profile and I don’t always bother to load another one when I get cloudflared, so >50% of visits from me are “bots”.
I download albums (through piracy or not) and add them to my modest mp3 collection the same way I used to buy CDs — once in a while when it seems like a good idea. If there’s an album I don’t think is worth listening to again, I delete it.
