as other mentioned theres many kde programs with windows builds, wsl is also an option
but doesn’t dopus and mobaxterm run well enough in wine already?

aren’t drivers mostly built into the kernel except for stuff like nvidia proprietary stuff?
i doubt people new to linux would even bother with managing system daemons…

tailscale. and then use vnc(tigervnc-server or x11vnc) and ssh
there was a non foss one i used (iirc nodevideo? smth like that) but it wasn’t great.
i recommend kdenlive in termux

debian. friendly and large community, no weird antifeatures like ubuntu
that’s a downgrade from m1 pro
never get L or E series, only get T/P/X series
panasonic letsnote (not the toughbook) is actually also quite decent. but it’s hard to get unless you’re in japan

i actually don’t even use microg, there’s no problem at all. you don’t get push messages, and some apps might not run tho i havent encountered any yet. (i don’t run banking, drm, anything like that)

upstream linux does accept AI “assisted” patches. if this gets properly mainlined, why wouldn’t it run Nura?

i think i did this long time ago with WSL. there was some way to mount a physical disk’s filesystem.

soulseek is very easy to use. everyone shares a folder on their computer, and one can query keywords on everyone’s directory listing and download off of them.
install the client nicontine+ (on desktop. if on android, use ‘seeker’. there’s none for ios), choose a nickname, set a shared folder, optionally fill it with some media you already have, and you can start using immediately. i recommend setting the shared folder the same as the soulseek download folder so you get to share what you download.
since soulseek is P2P and requires direct network connection, at least one of two peers need open ports. so if you have open ports you can download from everyone, but with closed ports you can only download from those who have their ports open. so, port forwarding is optional and not strictly necessary.
i haven’t ever heard of receiving letters from ISP because of soulseek, since it’s surprisingly quite under the radar for some reason. ISP letters are usually because of torrents. but still, soulseek protocol is unencrypted so it’s not impossible. because of this i don’t recommend usage on public wifi. use it through a VPN if you can.

i used to download from deezer when public ARLs were extremely easy to get and use, but they got more restrictive recently. these days i just soulseek.

thanks! will look into it
this is true, refurb drives should be avoided unless it’s a very good deal. used drives are fine as long as the conditions are clear.

sorry for keeping you wait for so long. please try downloading this boot.img file and booting it. i’ve modified the original boot.img’s default.prop to enable ADB.
boot that using fastboot boot tecno-ki7_boot_adb.img, and right after that run sudo dmesg -w to see any new USB device appearing. Also open another terminal and try adb devices, adb shell etc and see if you can communicate with the device while it’s in the boot animation stage.
if the new boot.img i provided doesn’t work please let me know, we might need to nullify vbmeta

if you can unlock it, you can get it running.
similar specs mean you can take the existing port as reference, but it probably won’t work as-is.
if you can’t get a device specific port, you can always run a treble gsi rom

just tested now, it works
i had a cheap made in china consumer router with mt7621 on it, porting openwrt was surprisingly easy and its been running well enough for the past 5 years. adguard home runs on it and handles dns adblocking
