Linux@lemmy.ml•Noob: Can I install Linux on an empty nvme while in windows? Without needing a USB?English
4·2 days agoYou can use a raw disk in VirtualBox. Just make sure you install an initrd and kernel which has drivers for all of your hardware. If you let something autodetect hardware, it will detect the virtual hardware, not the real one.

31·3 days agoWell, my issue isn’t with what contributors might do, but that you personally hid all AI contributions and I can’t even assess your coding quality that way.
As it seems, you slopped out multiple thousands of lines of code and haven’t shown me any proof you’ll be able to maintain this pile of autogenerated nonsense.
I know it feels like work hitting Enter ten thousand times, but it really isn’t helping. I’m very glad you put in an AI disclaimer! It’s the right thing to do and this means I can judge the project so that I don’t want to try it. I’d just have preferred a bit more transparency in terms of AI contribution, because I’d have tried it if I thought you’d be able to maintain it.
I’ll just put a reminder in my calender to check back in a year if you abandoned it or if the project is alive and kicking still.

144·4 days agoYou purposefully want to hide AI contributions? Oh dear. I don’t know if I’m on board with this.
You wrote 60.000 lines of code in three months? Even worse.
This is AI slop.
Why put powerful in the title, instead of a description? 😄

4·9 days agoYeah but why is it profitable? Their only customer base are other evil people. And in my experience, only a small percentage of people are evil. Yet they control so much.

Imagine all the video streaming and storage infrastructure which can be rented to AI Bros instead. Imagine all the CSAM and copyright infringing material Grok and Co. can generate with all these free resources!
This is a “smart” business decision and that’s why capitalism is bad.
The 5000 series from Dell is worse than the T series thinkpads. I’d say the 7000 series would be comparable.
I had a 7280 (IIRC) which was great for years, I really like the mobile Dell keyboards. I wouldn’t touch a 5410 though, rather a 7410.
So out of these two, the Thinkpad seems like the better deal.

8·15 days agoFinally! I know what I’ll try over the weekend after I made backups 😇

Maybe the people asking for your projects and the ones slamming them for you using AI in any capacity are different people.
I for one think AI is a tool and if you’re competent or it’s for one-off tasks, you can use it. It’s the agentic vibecoding by complete non-IT people (or techbros, or absolute beginners) that grinds my gears.
