  • Aside: Are “AI Boosters” the Real Disadvantaged-Marginalised-Subaltern Party?

No, and this is an extremely suspicious framing. The largest structural and monetary support ever leveraged is being put behind “AI” rollout. […] Pushing back against it is what involves sticking out your neck.

Great article. Still working through it, but full of excellent, clearheaded points like this.

  • At a certain point you may have to make a sacrifice. You may have to reject convenience, and call the store, or park your car and walk down the block. And while you’re at it you can update the OSM address.

I know it’s not the easiest way and I’m not judging you one bit—I also take the less principled option sometimes. But I can’t even render Google maps on my phone now, and it’s amazing how things just turn out fine when I muddle through.

I come from the 90s for fuck’s sake, before all this. I’m not going to let some power tripping ad platform make me feel helpless.

  • The dems suck, aye. Afaik Mamdani is a socdem which isn’t radical or anything but I can see why people are excited for a reformist politician rather than a straight up sellout like they’re used to.

I’m kind of on the fence about whether a “good” government makes real revolutionary change more or less likely… It’s one of them things where you’d like to see ownership move to the workers and the role of the state sort of dissolve while protecting the power vacuum that non government corporations would step into.

Anyway I’m talking above my level of education. This is just vibes speaking now.
