Last time I tried to install bazzite, it told me to f off because I have other distros installed. Is that still the case?
I used it a few years ago multibooting and it I don’t recall it complaining then

I appreciate this page for that reason

*1 of mullvads co-founders has far right ties, that is significantly different to “the founder”; but his actions have tarnished mullvad significantly, and I am not aware of the company doing anything about it, they do not appear to have handled it well at all, even though the other co-founder stated he does not agree with the far right sponsorship.
proton were always dodgy.

A handy, if slightly unusual link re: vpn ownership

What the hivemind gives, the hivemind takes away, before hiveminding to the next pile of poo, and not learning a single thing.
Time will tell if this is just a hiccup, or more of an issue for proton though, a lot of their customers will be oblivious, apathetic, or defensive. There are so many consumers in the market these days, that what once would have been a death knell, is now just an annoyance. Proton can always just sack some staff and replace them with more ai anyway.
Proton fans downvoting is a long term thing, on multiple platforms. Go team proton yay!!
“My name is Richard” says Andy
“so go on there with your personal account”
A segue to a tactic that proton has used for years to subversively market for themselves, and market against other providers. They have been caught out doing it multiple times, including posting the exact same comment from multiple accounts pretending not to be affiliated with proton, those comments seem to disappear though in time.
Following how they conduct themselves on reddit was definitely an eye opener, at least for those with their eyes open.
A lot of proton staff would have already been well aware of what proton was really about.

They are one of the ones who seem decent until you look into them more, or experience them for yourselves, but that is just my opinion. It pays to try to do your own research, that isn’t necessarily easy with vpns, most of them are dodgy in one way, or another. If they offer 70% etc off deals… they are obviously trash, so that is a decent way to shorten your list, after that it gets more complicated.

windscribe is also bit weird to deal with. I have exchanged messages with their customer support or whatever on reddit and it wasn’t ideal, and have also interacted with their ai chat on their website. I had issues with their product on linux and their ai gave me the console instructions that if entered would have deleted my operating system.

oh wow fam, ai is protecting us from… ai

They appear to be the only ethical 2 left since the mullvad incident

“Unfortunately for me, my subscription just renewed last month on a multi year plan, but it does give me time to browse for and experiment with alternatives.”
I walked away from a 2 year proton subscription after using them for only 6 months
Proton are why I would never sign up to a vpn subscription ever again.

Meanwhile the masses downvoted me, and upvoted you
Protons marketing department is the only department that performs well, people love to follow, and love to be brand fans, gleefully ignoring all the signs that what they are a fan of, is just an illusion they were sold.
That does (as you suggest) also allow for the possibility that the same people will also follow others away from proton… at which point most of them (the masses) will all follow each other to something else (which may, or may not be a decent choice this time)… not learning anything from this, yet again.
Chances are the proton brand fans, will just defend them though, just as they have been doing for years.

The masses won’t learn a single thing from this.
Yes, I’m aware of what you meant.
If you capitalise US though, people are going to think you are talking about the usa
easy mistake though, especially since proton have always acted so very usa
I have my main distro installed on one nvme, and have 4 50Gib partitions set aside on another for playing around with up to 4 other distros. No microslop. No other distro that I have tried had an issue with that set up.
I will check it out again some day on my old (pre nvme) pc instead. Much easier with 2.5" drives
