It’s good to get comfortable in the command line, including over ssh.
Especially considering ai and documentation along the way?
If I am going to ask AI or Google about something, I just do that to help me find the answer and then apply the answer myself. That way I learn, and can double check the AI isn’t hallucinating, at least on in obvious ways.
As for documentation, I keep a notes folder with detailed notes on manual configuration I’ve done, how and why, and the things I’ve learned along the way. I’ve found it’s both useful to help remember the things I’ve learned, and it is useful to go back to refer to.

One day, in the name of organizing, my mom put all of our game CDs into a a compact container and threw the original boxes away.
Yeah that was a sad day…

Neat experiment but “Einstein’s gravity in the quantum world” is nothing new

I have my Immich instance setup with an nginx proxy for security and ssl, and that’s exposed to the internet. I have a domain for my personal website, so I just put up my Immich instance at a subdomain of that. I can now make public share links I can just copy and paste into a group chat. I haven’t added any other users yet but I’d I wanted to all they’d need to do is login via email/password.
This is an officially supported kind of setup for Immich, so I would consider it secure: https://docs.immich.app/administration/reverse-proxy/
I don’t have all of my homelab services exposed publicly though; I VPN in for those.
General tips for exposing a server to the internet:

It’s hard not to inhale a little if using the spray kind

Further down the Wikipedia the most recent rebrand from OS X to macOS was in 2016.
Still, seems fishy to me that 20% of the market share would be running a 10 year old OS…

What’s the difference between “OS X” and “macOS” on this chart?
Surely 20% of the market share isn’t Mac’s that are so old their OS is over 10 years old? I don’t know how else to interpret that…
Use Steam for SteamInput even if you get your games from Somewhere else.

Don’t show this to the Rust fans
A human doing a clean room reimplementation is not supposed to have seen the original source code for something they are reimplementing. If that source code is in the training data for the LLM, that seems like a similar situation.
