  • thats sad, but im not really surprised it seems like PIs all over the us already are on razor thin budgets to begin with. i think these have become more competitive too, when i was trying to apply to these types of jobs last decade , they wanted people with alot of experience up front that you couldnt get at uni’s because those labs are always packed.

one program, CLS9(clinical lab) i was look at got more competitive over the years, as people realized that choosing another grad program wasn’t going to amount to better jobs, as CLS was a cheap program with a high income(100k+ starting at least in the west) if you can even get into the program. they have an abridged program for MLT, but that usually doesnt help.

  • google started limited the accounts created, allegedly to combat botting/spamming, and from AI SCRAPing. they have a deal for Reddits data to AI scrape, i think google is helping them out trying to force genuine users content, it pretty much conincides with reddits forced login. because botters and spammers create hundreds of google accounts to verify with reddit(as trustworthy to keep it from getting shadowbanned)

  • i had it at 20, after severe stress from semester of college. eventhough it was a small rash, it seem to be more intense than normal, some people have more widespread rash than mines but they dint have lasting damage(i 10 blister scars). i remember it gave me neck and lower back pain making it stiff asf. and the blisters became scars, and permanent nerve damage near the scars. and yes i had mild PHN for a couple years, and permanent nerve damage as well. apparently you can get pain in a numbed area too, which has its own term.

apparently i remember i had the chickenpox, also records showed i got the Chickenpox vaccine in the late 90s too.

shingles is more severe the older you are, or if you are immunocompromised(they usually get a more unusual rash)

  • LIKELY the shingles in itself is the thing leading to strokes and heart attack, because it damages nerves, apparently older and immunocompromised get more atypical symptoms, like it can attack the vagus nerve, or the intestines.

these 2 groups are more likely to get multiple-dermatone shingles, and disseminated too. the one that killed feinstein was encephalitis by shingles, which is more severe than meningitis.

a research paper i came across, where someone had shingles(i believe immunocompromised) had some mild lesions on thier liver.
