Even before i heard of Marxism, I already figured out that much of the problem is due to those who haves and have nots. I am from a poor country where the rich don’t care and basically own the country, but the poor are not class conscious and keep electing the same politicians. So, I have seen first hand the worst of capitalism. Libertarians want to realise their utopia of a regulation-free society; but if people want to see in action what it’s like, just look at developing countries. There are laws and regulations, sure, but if you have money, the officials look the other way. The laws and regulations are theoretical which makes it pretty much imaginary. In other words, it is tacitly libertarian. Imagine if laws and regulations are formally rid of as dreamt by libertarians. I always mention this to them but of course, they’re probably wealthy and don’t care. Exploitation is part of the game for them.

As long as corporate Dems are still in leadership positions of the party, I would not trust them to practise what they preach.

Only because of the EU actually punishing Orban for democratic backsliding by withholding funds. It is also hard to do authoritarian things when part of a confederated organisation. Meanwhile, the US has a more centralised government and a single culture, so it regulatory capture is much easier for any authoritarian figures to sneak in.

On the one hand, Trump and co. are looking for excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act. It’s a delicate balance.

At least that nonsense is starting to fall apart and Americans are being more active with primaries.

Not only, that but I always think that the current fascists have learnt from their counterparts: the communists. The latter coordinated internationally while the old school fascists just winged it. Now, the new fascists realised they should coordinate globally like the Communist International have. It’s not a coincidence that there is a surge of the far right across the world.

Seems a bit of oversimplification. Even in the districts of “The Squad” elected Trump. AOC asked her constituents why they elected Trump, a lot of it is more like protest votes on the neoliberal Democrats and failure to address the cost of living crisis. At the very least, Americans are finally waking up to take charge by primarying neoliberals away, rather than simply following the silly thought terminating cliché that is “vote blue no matter who.”

I’ve always been wondering as to why the right have so many pedophiles is because since liberals support LGBTQ+, the conservatives must have conflated LGBTQ+ with pedophilia.

It explains a lot as to why the right elect so many child abusers and turn a blind eye to Trump. They must have thought supporting LGBT rights is tacit support for child abuse, as well as their fixation on pedophiles is innate projection 😂
