I like how it says liberty was born in 1776 and died in 2026
Not really worth it unless you’re downloading attachments from spam emails or sketchy websites. It’s pretty dated tech - old school AV definitions, but there’s nothing better that’s free afaik
As a media client, totally. Lots of people run jellyfin on Android TV sticks and things like that.
It still is! If you try and boot a kernel with nothing in /dev, you won’t get most of the kernel boot messages since /dev/console doesn’t exist. You need a basic set of device nodes in /dev before udev is started.
If you’re going to rsync a system to new hardware and exclude /dev /proc /sys, it’s better to setup a new mount of your / to a different directory and sync off that, so you get the underlying stuff without the cruft.
/dev and /sys are the other two special ones
No, you can’t have a hard link cross filesystems and proc is its own fs type.
If you delete a file that’s still open by the app, the link in proc will still exist and you can copy the file back out of proc.

I use nzb360 for this and it’s fantastic, well worth paying a small amount for. Not quite as many apps supported though.

Sounds like you might be running out of ram and using up swap, which just grinds things to a halt.
Open a system monitoring tool at the same time and keep an eye on your ram and swap usage. If swap is filling up, that’s usually a bad sign. (if swap usage is small and not changing, that’s not necessarily bad)
For bios look at https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd and it might do it for you.

On top of the other suggestions here, upgrade your bios. We really need to know exactly what you mean by freezing though.

Open to either, but I use multiple google cals heavily and don’t like that most apps seem to need to set an hourly refresh. I want things to update right away as my day changes.
I’ll try that one, thanks!

Just switched over to it, it’s great. Any suggestions for a similarly solid calendar app?
I’d also suggest throwing more cores at it than you think it needs, and increasing the nic buffer sizes. This is what finally solved the random 1-2 minute outages I was seeing on lemmy.ca, turns out we were somehow saturating the queues even at relatively low traffic levels. (these issues might be specific to our model nic)
Finally, make sure hardware offloading is disabled, and your CPU type is set to host.

Revert back to the previous kernel / initramfs to get yourself booting. There’s no devices listed, so you probably need to add the disk driver and make a new initramfs.

Lol well they’ve all lost money now.
I’d be pretty concerned about prompt injection risks with feeding a LLM unsanitized data. You definitely need a good harness around it…
