Broadcom bought VMWare and tried the enshitification strategy that works so well with normal consumers; put the product on life support, increase licensing costs by hundreds of percent, Profit. But unlike Disney IPs and shit-eating consumers, the only thing keeping larger orgs on VMWare was no catalyst to switch. It was just the cost of doing business. But when you jack up prices so much and assume companies are just going to suck it up, all you end up doing is killing your golden goose. My company is changing to Openstack (a good decision even in a vacuum), all they needed was a little motivation to actually do it. I’m sure any company with a few competent engineers and a few managers that can look beyond the next quarter will do the same.
In summary: If you have any $AVGO sell it, or at least write calls.

A one-time money infusion is terrible policy. I support it because taxes should be re-distributive, but there is no way to budget a sustainable social policy that way. If the tax policy was more progressive and most importantly assessed annually (and nationally) it would be a huge win.

Hey, something I agree with a republican on.

I just use an Intel Nuc. I’ve been using it for >10years now and it still does 4k no problem.

Never let your enemies define your speech.
I didn’t know any of this. Amazing. I usually just look at /proc/net/ for routes and bonding config etc.

I don’t know why Schumer should give a shit about democrats rallying against him. He will be on the ballot as a dem in New York state. It’s impossible not to be re-elected, so who cares?

Why would moderate libs car about “going left.” They want to support the “just world” they grew up in and ensure they are never made uncomfortable.

Oh right, the red party of Capital is surely “Falling Apart.” I wonder what that actually means to the author?

You are assuming that the outcome of American democracy reflects the will of the people and that voters react to politicians not meeting their needs by voting them out. That is absolutely not the case. Universal Healthcare is consistently the most important issue to voters, but no politician, not even the Democrats has ever lost their election for refusing to endorse Universal Healthcare. Additionally no politician has ever lost their job because they gave tax breaks to corporations even though there is no case where giving a tax break to Amazon, et al, improves any of their constituents lives.
Back to Healthcare, Obama Care made the insurance industry hugely rich, reduced the quality of care across all demographics, and caused the absolute healthcare crisis we are in today and yet every single idiot liberal will call it a win even if the outcomes were worse for everyone.
This goes a bit more into detail. https://www.politico.com/story/2009/12/liberals-why-didnt-obama-fight-030648
But the important part is that even though the bill did not do any of things it sought to do, Obama got to declare victory and the voters rewarded him for it. (not that they had a choice.)

Universal suffrage was a mistake. Maybe a confederation of workers councils would be better.

Paying the vendors is how the DNC grift works. The GoP can rely on ideology, but the DNC specifically exists to funnel donations to preferred vendors while maintaining plausible deniability.

I’m so glad I quit facebook before any of the other services came out that apparently people “can’t live without”, and I’m perfectly content living in ignorance.

The “otherside” is literally enabling everything you are saying here. You are being played, there aren’t two sides, there are zero for you.

Darn, guess governments can’t do anything, may as well not try.

Safe spaces for queer people existed before social media and before the average politician knew what the internet was.

Glad people like you self-select against having dangerous objects in their possession.

The right of the state to keep slaves as punishment? That’s a weird thing to care about.
While one could argue the efficacy of taking out drones with a shotgun, the reality is that if you shoot at ANY drone with a firearm you will have every police force that has jurisdiction chomping at the bit to charge you with a felony. Drones (for now) should be handled with collective passive action. The easiest method that is legal in most places is to tether balloons/kites up to the maximum allowed FCC air space (typically 400feet above ground). A neighborhood of homes all with their own tethered balloons basically creates a no fly zone for drones. And most importantly it’s not a felony.
