I feel like everyone “acted” right leaning when we were teenagers.

We used “gay” as a derogatory. I recall friends and I using talking points that in hindsight was very incelly. Mocking idealistic lefties etc.

But I don’t think I truly felt that way, and I know my friends I’ve kept in touch with post high school don’t/didn’t.

I think a lot of it is performative, to fit in. And now I’m an openly raging lefty

I hope it’s the same case with kids these days
