Are we reading the same Lemmy? The Democrats are geting here almost more heat than Republicans. That leads me to the question why you would see the need for such a strawman?

I see it more as a gradual process. There were a lot of milestone of the democratic foundation of the US breaking away and then there are some foundations of democracy that never existed in the US to begin with. There are too many to mention but allowing companies to buy elections legally is one of them, the rise of the executive branch in power is another and more recently when the Supreme Court started to back up autocratic developments because of partisan reasons is another.

It is if its behind a Reichsadler and Hakenkreuz

Techbros are in the fascist camp though. That said, even if it were the other way round, if that works, democracy is lost anyway, no matter which side wins.

I mean the black cross really isn’t a Nazi symbol. It is a Prussian symbol long predating the Nazi regime, derived from the cross of the German Order, still in use by the German Bundeswehr to this day and we all know how thoroughly Germany is in not using any Nazi symbols anymore (and also making their depiction a crime).

Control the past.

As long as they stay in power with it and don’t face any conesquences, I fear that they are actually winning with their fascism 101.
It appears to be a US American thing.

The SS was an elitist regime special force with many educated people (enabling them to be even more monstrous). The SA was the regime mob, with your typical gangsters. The SA was first and got too power hungry, didn’t end well for them.
I don’t see an SS eqivalent in the US so far, maybe if the tech fascists created a private army murdering for the regime?

The SA … ehm I mean ICE, is above the law, obviously.

The easiest way to know that those accusations are not true, is that the case would not have been persued by the justice dep, if the SPLC really wanted to fraudulently use donations for supporting Nazis.
It is great that Trump is finally embracing the SI system.
