I personally avoid Bambu like the plage

If you are looking for the same performance and feature set (but not a PR nightmare, and locked eco system) look at Snapmaker U1.

If you wish to not break the bank as much, and just want something more simple and cheaper. I believe Creality still makes decent options.

Prusa is the best, no questions. But they are also the most expensive

  • Can here to say the speed is too high indeed.

The extruder can not keep up at the high speeds. It has acceleration on. And in the beginning it’s slow enough, but at the middle/end it’s under extruding. It goes sigzag so that’s why the patter looks like this.

Reduce speed, or get an higher flow nozzle/gantry/extruder

  • Hey welcome to the hobby!

We personally have the whole TV on a Vlan, so it can’t acces anything at all. While our server/HA can still send a WOL command to it, and jellyfin can stream our movies to it. I run all of it on top of TrueNas, most as an app or else an VM.

I have never tried to set something up for YouTube specifically, since that runs on a Chromecast (for now…)

Let me know how your journey goes

  • GAN is not just faster and smaller, it’s side effect is also efficiency.

But it’s currently still a high end way of going power switching. So it’s more expensive, so not all power supplies use it yet

House power wise our biggest users are AC appliances (heat pumps) they do not benefit from a more efficient DC adapter. Power chart

A phone at 5000mah who charges every day from 0-100% would use 5Ax4.2Vx365d = 7,665 Kwh x €0,22 = €1,68 (excluding efficiency loses). This is too small to make reasable investments in phone adapters. But I do see that a better computer power supply (when use regularly) can make a difference to your power bill
