When using PayPal, the vendors don’t get my actual card number, just the PayPal account name (and shipping details if I choose to include that). That’s the whole point of intermediaries like PayPal, Venmo, etc.

What info does using Venmo give them that using PayPal or a credit card doesn’t? It’s not like you can go to their headquarters and use cash.
