They may as well have said please use a VPN to save us the cost of a stamp next time

Of course! Load up a bunch of sea shanties and a good chance a few of them have played other styles too. Probably got some protest songs in there, the workers song/chemical workers song. Within an hour or so the playlist will have you asking which side are you on.

In England you are never more than an hour away from a big city
It sounds sorta like some parts of Cornwall then, but that is now getting filled with holiday homes and airBNBs so generally you have deprived locals and rich people from London pushing up the housing prices to way beyond what anyone who is actually from the area can afford.

Hard to say. I think England is pretty different in that sense, rural areas are usually more expensive than deprived towns. At least from everything I have seen. I wouldn’t mind a remote area, but they cost more, especially in the county and region I live in.
Scotland and maybe parts of Wales have a few options. But we are talking like a derelict barn with a roof that doesn’t hold out water and no road access, it still costs more than any decent flat here does, but its a little cheaper than most houses.
If its land which you can’t legally live on, same area of land would be like 1/10th the price. They REALLY do not want you to buy some woodland or farmland and stick a caravan or cabin on it to live in.

Some of us can’t afford to move somewhere nicer. Recently found out I live in the most deprived town in the entire county, yay!
Yet we have fancy houses worth 7 figures along by the beach… So if despite that we are still the most deprived on average, how do you think the rest of us have it?
In the worst areas of town most households don’t own a car. In the rich part of town almost none of them have less than 2.

I agree, but at this point have given up and reluctantly put up with Wh.

If the house was on fire I would just step out through a window frame after smashing the window with the nearest solid object I can find.
But I use regular keys and my front door can be locked/unlocked without a key from the inside.

So the same as a battery running out?
Pass through charging is also a thing, so the 10Ah battery can charge when mains is up and then continue during a power cut.
In my experience some may need to be reset to start charging. Depends on what you have though. Either way give it a test first.
Just ban low effort content, AI or human made slop both count and have no value.
No, stop giving the system legitimacy. Reject it and leave their platform if it is required.
Don’t even log into YouTube.

Ehh, I know the software where I work makes endless attempts to connect too. That isn’t malicious, just shit. 4 year later its still trying again every 30 seconds. Logs are fucking massive.

Plenty of systems like that use windows too though. I mean I totally welcome more reasons to use Linux but at the same time my job could become more interesting if we had to switch to Linux.
I would love it. Until everyone else quits. Perhaps I could demand higher pay?

Instead of age verification, it should be improved parental controls. Make it more obvious how to set them up. The initial boot for windows first page could be “are you setting this up for an adult or child?”, even require shops selling computers to make sure customers understand that.
Make the parents take the responsibility they are currently somehow managing to avoid.

Pretty sure they don’t need help with that…

Its only to receive calls from people and employers who still use phone/SMS as a contact method.
Anything important can be done on a Linux PC. So then the question is how portable of a Linux PC can I comfortably get.

Could go back to a flip phone tbh. Only got a FF4 a few months ago and put calyx on it, used a flip phone before that for a few years.

Only for stock android, right?
In that case probably start from i5/ryzen5 and 16GB RAM as a starting point and go higher if budget allows.
No one else is going to wear one, even if I did that isn’t really going to help when living in the same house.
