Life before Trump is exactly what led to having Trump.

Ah, but they vote Democrat, so they must be enemies of America. Iran would be doing America a favor by taking them out.

Assuming there’s even the slightest trace of thought process going on here.

During his first term I would consider this to be a more likely explanation, but second-term Trump has been doing a pretty good job of purging anyone with actual competence. He wasn’t happy with how they kept telling him what to do last time around.

Hanlon’s razor has been getting an exceptional workout these days. It could just be that Trump is monumentally stupid and didn’t think about this at all.

Sure, but it’s not like they have much need for diesel right now. The crops have all finished growing, there’s just that “harvest” thing they need to do before winter comes and everything stops. So they’re like 90% done already, right?

Ironically, the guys who have tried so far have all been right-wing nutballs as well.

What emergency? Just generally an emergency?

Or maybe there are more than exactly two possible political positions in the world.

“The house is on fire and the arsonist is running around spraying more gasoline everywhere, but we think we should also be focusing on the furniture arrangement when we’re given come control.”

I mean, I guess health care is important, and it’s possible to do more than one thing at a time. But maybe not the best thing to say in the midst of a gigantic crisis.

Since when does Trump wait for approval?

If they’re stored properly (locked in a safe, with the ammunition locked up separately somewhere else) then they’re not particularly dangerous.

I don’t have any guns in my house, but if I did and they were properly stored I’d be far more concerned about someone grabbing a hammer or other tool from my workshop room and killing me with that instead.

It does care what people vote, at least somewhat.

And I bet lots of Americans will fall in line and vote “R” regardless of what they think about what Trump is doing.

So they’ll do it without any plans, like all the other stuff the military’s been doing.

It says more than half, so it’s a sure thing.

One’s got a four in it and the other’s got a three, the bigger one is obvious.

I download everything, I just may not ultimately keep it long-term if it turns out to be uninteresting or bad. Streaming and downloading transfer the same amount of bits, one just has higher demands for timeliness.

“Balk?” Balk? As if there was even the slightest chance that we’d deign to even consider this moron’s mouth-farts about renaming stuff?

I wonder what percentage is able to accurately define what “capitalism” means.

Sitting here in Canada, watching Trump randomly threaten tariffs every other day whenever it strikes his fancy to demand some new concession from us despite decades of free trade agreements and frameworks in place to supposedly prevent this, thinking this isn’t actually an Iran problem.
