I guess in a similar vein, if someone stalking you is part of your threat model, you would try to minimize how much information they’re gaining on you even though they rely on that same information. Personally, I believe targeted advertising today is a form of stalking, therefore it makes sense to me why someone would have minimizing data collection for advertisers as part of their threat model.

Yes, because nonconsensual tracking of people’s personal data should be taken as a threat.

3·1 month agoWhat’s komodo? I’m thinking of starting a home server so learning how to harden/automate updates (which is what it sounds like you’re saying) is what I want to learn.
I did write my initial post like Im starting from nowhere. I do appreciate trying to get me in on the basics!
I have a few more accounts than would fit on a notepad, but I appreciate the sentiment.
I completely disagree, to be honest. I don’t understand how making a budget has a necessary prerequisite of manually inputting and categorizing transactions into a spreadsheet, or how that builds character in a way that’s relevant to saving money. I want a program because my finances became more complicated recently and I don’t have time to input my transactions from my bank into a spreadsheet and categorize them every day.
I don’t have a process right now because my finances got more complicated recently. I figured I’d ask so that I can make a process!
I would agree, but when I’ve sat down to make a spreadsheet it just seems like inputting and categorizing my different transactions manually is a chore. I just want to have something categorize and bin it into necessities, saving, and then see how much off the top I can spend per day. Usually if I have a dollar goal per day or week it makes it really easy for me to budget. Now that my finances are more complicated, its harder to get to that point with just a spreadsheet.
Thanks for the big list! I’ll definitely look through those options.

6·3 months agoYeah I didn’t want to just post it to some random platform, plus I wanted to contribute in some way so giving a torrenting guide seemed like the perfect choice!

28·3 months agoYeah me too, but I wanted to write a guide on torrenting and have a reason for people to potentially see my music in the process!

I find clean room implementations to theoretically be cool, but there’s a big area for bugs because they’re based on feature parity, to my understanding. I would love for a 1:1 recreation of software like Photoshop, but unless there’s something that can also be done to iron over bugs, I doubt the implementation would be good.
