I disowned all the Republicans I knew two years ago, and never looked back. Being in Utah, though, means there’s not a lot of people still left in my life. Oh well, the cost of having principles, right?

While we’re at it, we should also get a super smart AI to detect the blood type of any author. That way we can be extra certain they’re not AI. They’re both trivial detections to implement! Why hasn’t anyone done it yet?

We involuntarily contributed to their creation, the least we get to do is enjoy the fruits of that contribution. More should be given, financially reimbursement through taxation, but until that happens, free use of the technology is consolation.
Besides, following through with your analogy, if a baby is born from rape - does that baby deserve hate for who their father is?

You are awesome! I’m quite envious of your setup and progress.

I think this is the best reasons in this thread, for what is worth.

All these “remove” votes will only accomplish developers not disclosing their use of AI 🙄 It’s very silly.

That seems to me to be just more justification for why we should use it. We contributed to creating it, indirectly, so we should benefit from it’s creation. Admittedly simple usage isn’t sufficient, and all companies that offer LLM services should be heavily taxed, with that revenue redistributed to the populace, but that’s a different argument.

The key word you’re looking for is “abliterated”
One? I’ve received three. It seems you have to dumb down your responses, and add some intentional typos if you don’t want the mob after you lately.

Fo shizzle, chat! His flow be bussin’, yo.

🤣 This comment needs more slang and buzzwords.

You aren’t capable of doing what your car does, though.

It’s accurate, though.
superhuman: being above the human

Hosting an accurate AI locally typically takes 24GB of VRAM. Not having sufficient VRAM makes you reliant on remote models as a paid service. You pay many more times for tokens what you could pay for RAM just once for limitless tokens.

I’ve got the pistols, so I’ll keep the pesos - yeah, that seems fair.
Technically, yes.
“Make commits sporadically, using inexact terms, occasional typos and every once in a while, forget to include a file that then necessitates a follow-up commit of a single line that simply says ‘whoops’”
You can cherry pick the numbers in either direction technically - you can operate an LLM without a GPU to make the AI power usage really low, and you can play a game with only basic 2D visuals that has low power usage.
However, the ideal in both cases will fully utilize a high powered GPU, so it’s a wash. During the day my GPU is answering prompts using the Qwen 3.6 LLM, and at night it’s ray-tracing in Cyberpunk 2077. In both cases it’s using a ton of power, but in only one of those two scenarios is it actually producing anything of value.
Same here. There’s too many evil people, and too many believe that people can’t be evil.
It does, yes, because policies meant to punish those billionaires also affect those using the technology responsibly, like myself. That’s why I make a point of highlighting the distinction. I don’t enjoy being maligned because people automatically associate AI with data centers.
Keep fighting the good fight! I was heartened to read that Erin Brockovich is leading the charge opposing data centers. I sincerely hope she, or someone like her, is successful.
Or, at least, Elon Musk did.
