Look at the polls in Texas, despite Paxton and Abbot being shitheels for decades the elections are super close, far more close than they should reasonably be, that’s the fn apathy I’m talking about.
Talk to any former or current Trump or conservative leaning independent and you will usually find the exact same apathy, the exact same “both-siderersisms”, and the same entitlement to something better but no idea how or what.
Most people that aren’t clearly one side or the other see both as equally bad, which is just completely f’d, and are unwilling to recognize the known threat in MAGA over some perceived threat maybe. Undecided Americans had the easiest open book test and have failed three times and will probably fail again, because of ignorance or lying about how they feel about this stuff.
What you see in the cities are not indicative of what the State is going to do politically, and not every state has a New York City to counter the vote of the rest of the state.
My point about the apathy is that far too few are as pissed as they should be about all of this, far too few people can separate the Dems from the MAGAs (which to me, is silly), and far too few Dem politicians grasp the threat MAGA represents, we should be doing “more” we should be organizing quietly, we should be preparing for when it’s time for MAGA to leave power and they won’t leave, just like last time. Also that’s not getting into the useful idiot alternative presidential candidates like Jill Stein or someone like Cornell West, whom are both working for the GOP/MAGA and their donor class and have Russian ties.
And yeah excellent point about rejecting factual information due to being biased against authority due to past failures from said authority, but facts are facts and if you cannot deal with facts then you are just a child and should be barred from serious discussion and decisions.
I’m just so fn tired of people treating blatant liars, mentally ill, and ego-driven hot-takes as equal to educated subject authorities and credible and verifiable facts, I really want to go back to at least the facade of being a serious nation with serious leadership.
It’s really unbelievable until you try to broach these conversations with other Americans, there’s just way too much apathy and entitlement and a sense of “well it’s not going to affect me” until it does.
Even people you would think are allies on topics show you how weird they are once you start hearing all of their uneducated conspiracy takes. The amount of American Gen Z and Gen A that don’t believe in space or the moon landing is astounding, and we (my family) literally live where the moon landing and most American space exploration is launched from, just truly disheartening. Same with flat earth, same with some truly bizarre religious based Ufology.
MAGA knew to attack us in our niche cult Internet spaces, and now they’re all propaganda and disinformation vectors to steer new MAGAs and supremacists to them.

First 100 day agenda should include getting rid of Jeffries and Schumer, and any other of these folks that seem unable to recognize that fascism is in our midst, and lack the willingness to stand up to it.

Our far right conservative wealthy and political class are in almost full rebellion against the people, and our centrists are on their side silently, just like 1930’s Germany.
It’s so ridiculous saying moderate candidate would look less radical next to her, there is nothing radical about AOC, Bernie, El-Sayid, Mamdani, yet here you are carrying the enemy’s water and showing how biased they made you by describing them as radical, when you don’t have to at all.
I get what your saying is meaning the voters, but my point is how is making sure people have healthcare, quality education, clean air & water, radical? The rich have done such a masterful job brainwashing the shit out of our society over the centuries of disinformation and religious indoctrination.
