I appreciate the enthusiasm, but how will you cut this down? This is where they’ll be mounted next:

Also, the only reason there’s been any success is because of social awareness. I have no doubt those types of posts are now being stifled. Perhaps you can fly a drone up and paint a lens, but almost no one else will even if you do. That’s beyond the skill set of most people.
Vandalism isn’t going to work, it needs to be addressed at the policy level, that means protests, attending city council meetings, and paying attention and voting in local elections. Not nearly so fun to post videos of this for likes on social media.

Well, yes. Usually mounted on extensions to a traffic light pole. You’re not cutting it down with a hacksaw, at least.
Imagine this on top of a traffic light:

San Diego approves smart streetlight cameras
San Diego police will soon be able to rely on surveillance cameras and license plate readers attached to 500 streetlights citywide, after the City Council approved their use Tuesday.

Also, we have this style, mounted high up on poles at the major intersections in my town, well out of reach of vandalism.

Yes, I know these are likely not used for the tracking people, or at least weren’t originally installed for that. But, what’s to keep them from upgrading or replacing them with ones that look the same to serve the same function as Flock cameras? No one would even notice. Sensor resolution, and optics for small cameras keeps improving.

I suppose the stick might be the same filthy rich will work to have them voted out at the next election, if they don’t take a smaller bribe. I dunno how this shit actually works, I’m just going by what I’ve seen in movies.
Yet one more argument for term limits for Congress. Not that it would outright solve this problem, but it would mitigate it some.

The only thing that surprises me is how cheap they are to buy. Contracts worth perhaps hundreds-of-millions, and these rube roll over for a pittance. I can only imagine there’s a stick behind the carrot.

Maybe he trying to rally the base?

This is huge, right? Right, I mean investigations, Congress probes, all that? Right?
Oh, wait, no. That’ll never happen.
The anonymous source cited in a June 2026 story about the probability of a successful Iran peace deal, which was one of the six stories the Trump administration singled out as having “threatened national security and/or spread falsehoods,” was Vance, Status revealed on Wednesday.

Hey Ed, I heard Kid Rock has some free time in his schedule, maybe he’d open for you.

Very much this, but we’ll hold out hope till the end. Till it’s too late. Both R and D know this.

United Nations. This idiot thinks he owns and controls everything.

He magnanimously volunteered to do the probing himself.

Our next President-apparent. Fucking hell, this is who they’re going to run against Vance, aren’t they?

I suspect they’ll shove Newsom down our throats.

Trump’s looking for more fashion tips.

A bit beyond that, though, if pressed, they’ll say they NEED to do it to remain competitive. That’s their reasoning behind every evil thing they do. On the rare occasion they call for some law to restrict the industry, it’s because their company is having trouble competing.
They’ll do anything to profit that isn’t explicitly against the law in whatever country they operate in. But they will also do things against the law if the penalty isn’t high enough to stop them. They will take into account the social penalty, but if the profit is high, and they run a virtual monopoly, then the social costs are almost always outweighed.
They take everything into consideration but have zero empathy or morals, so that never enters the equation. Profit is all that matters.

Republicans said they were the party of family values. That is clearly not the case.
Different family values for different folks.

If by “insane” you mean barely adequate, then I agree.
You can go through iCloud settings and delete all backups then sign out of iCloud.
You probably know this. And, you might suspect as I do that nothing is ever really deleted, they just disable your access to it and don’t do anymore backups. There’s nothing we can do about that, we gave it to them, they’ll keep it forever, associated with your account, no matter what they say--at least that’s what I think. Maybe Apple really does delete it, but I doubt it.
I get it, but I haven’t lost all hope. Yet.
