I have seen sometimes where the author of the article will include the amount of time given for a response to give context. I like that quite a bit. On the other hand, some companies make it exceedingly difficult to contact them or throw you into a maze of powerless and uninformed underlings.

Ages ago I’d read something like “women have a lower threshold before they start feeling pain, but a higher overall pain tolerance as compared to men”. I.e. they feel pain earlier than a man might under similar conditions, but are able to cope with higher pain levels better. At that same time there seemed to be wide agreement that pain was poorly understood. Surely a lot of good work on the study of pain has been done that I am not aware of in the intervening time.

If they are starved slowly and piecemeal then there may never be enough desperate people to act together effectively. If they are being starved quickly, then I’d wonder who is trying to aim them and where?
