The problem with leaving Discord is convincing anybody else to join you, let alone an entire social circle. There are dozens of “better” messaging platforms I’ve signed up for where I never sent or received a single message because I had nobody to add.

I hope Elon has to spend a few billion to rebrand xAI now.

Pretty sure GOG has similar terms, too. The difference is that they’re effectively unenforceable with the lack of DRM. But the “you’re only buying a licence to use the software” verbiage is pretty universal, and old at this point. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ve got NES games somewhere with nearly identical phrasing in their manuals.

This is becoming a real concern. An ambulance company in my area has been found to have cameras facing the patients recording audio and video.
