It helps if you can understand the difference between heat and temperature. Heat is the total thermal energy in a system, and temperature is the average thermal energy in a measured sample.
Example. If I have a known quantity of air, I can measure its temperature, and from that information I can determine how much heat is in that air. If I compress that air into half the space, the temperature will go up, but to total heat in the system will stay the same.
Heat flows from high temperature areas to lower temperature areas, and the greater the temperature difference is, the faster if flows. So if you take the air in our example, and put it in a refrigerator, it will eventually cool down to the same temperature as the refrigerator. If you then expand that air back to the original volume, you’ll see a drastic reduction in the temperature, but the overall heat won’t change.
So if you want to get heat from a colder source, all you need to do is compress that air first, which will raise the temp, move that higher temp air into your house, where it will warm up your house and cool off, then move it outside and let it expand again, where it will fall below the temp of the outside air, and it will warm up again, and you can repeat the cycle.

That shit should not breach containment. I want those shit bird republicans kept here. I want them prosecuted to the full extent of the law here. I want to see them thrown into the shithole private prison system they built. I want to hear the judge give them life sentences without parole. And then I want to never hear a fucking word from them again until they die.

Pfffff. That a problem for people who pay debts. Kings don’t pay.

Short answer : no.
Long answer : legal doesn’t really matter when Congress and the SC are in your pocket and refuse to hold you accountable for explicitly breaking the rules over and over again.

Still waiting for a replacement for the ACA, which was supposed to be so easy to do in the first week… Of his first term.

Lottery ticket is 2 bucks. Trump is costing the average American several hundred a month at this point. Buying a ticket for yesterday’s drawing is a better use of your money.

I feel like Erin has a point.
I also feel like the Dems in my state are the infinitely better alternative to the scam artist and big pharma conmen the GOP is putting forward. I’d much rather petition Acton and Brown to support the trans community than march in huge protests that are ultimately ignored by their Republican counterparts that are actively trying to harm and denigrate the trans community.

I can feel every old laptop in my vicinity trembling in fear.
Don’t deny them that last chance to live a life of purpose.

Well, you left out the billionaires who knew trump was going to slash taxes for the weahthy and open up the government to be pay-to-play. Oh, and there are the odd-jobs in the black community who vote Republicans because they feel like Dems pander toward minorities without every actually helping them, and at least Republicans are honest about being racist assholes. There were also people who wanted the war in Ukraine to end, and Trump said he would end that on day one. I also remember people talking about getting to the truth of the 2020 election. And there were people who wanted to secure the Dobbs SC ruling and go even further to ban abortion and birth control at a federal level. Oh, and crypto bros who wanted their shit to be unregulated…
These are just scratching the surface, I’m looking forward to your full comment where you pick apart the nuances within each of those groups and add in a few thousand more. Really hate to see politics “boiled down” to just a few things.

Yeah, it’s a lemmy comment. I decided to type up a quick snarky comment rather than write a poli-sci doctoral dissertation on the Social, Economic and Racial influence during the 2024 US General Election cycle and their effect on the outcome on the Office of the President.

No, but be sure to vote this year and we may be able to start some impeachments in January.

So why the fuck did two thirds of the country let him take power.
Two answers. Either racism, or because there was a genocide being done somewhere else by someone else, and it was easier to let him be elected than it was to vote for a candidate who didn’t expressly say she would do enough about it, also, he said he would make the genocide much worse and would get us more involved in it.

6-3 is the signature.
But I agree, if you don’t want your name on a ruling you made, then that ought to be cause enough to prevent it from going into effect.

News to me. I’ve only been stuck here for 30 years. Every state has speed traps. If you drive back roads anywhere, you’re gonna see them, I can’t say that Ohio is worse than anywhere else.

Regardless of what you meant, If you think he’s going to pay money to repair any of the billions (if not trillions) of dollars of damage he’s done to us, you’d be incorrect.

No. Not like that.

carving into it only means
hwe’ll have to pay more to fix the marble when the time comes
Correct a small mistake
It would make my fuckin year if they don’t.
