The Trump administration filed a preemptive lawsuit to block the certification of Alaska’s U.S. Senate election if Democratic candidate Mary Peltola wins – a move that could affect a race that may very well decide which party controls the Senate during the second half of Trump’s presidency.

Man, why are “journalists” such shit.

Looking at the actual court docs it looks like they’re challenging the very concept of Ranked Choice Voting

        1. “The election board shall initially tabulate each validly cast ballot as one votefor the highest-ranked continuing candidate on that ballot or as an inactive ballot. If a candidate is highest ranked on more than one-half of the active ballots, that candidate is elected and the tabulation is complete.” A.S. § 15.15.350(d).

E: there are 2 Dan Sullivan’s running for the seat. Dan S Sullivan and Daniel J Sullivan.

They’re claiming one (independent) candidate is there purely to steal votes. And honestly that sounds legit. But the state has already ruled on it and the feds have no jurisdiction.
