Two-thirds of Republican candidates in competitive US House and Senate races have broken with Donald Trump on policy or played down ties to him, a Reuters review found, revealing a widespread effort to distance themselves from the president as his unpopularity threatens the party’s hold on Congress.
The review of voting records, public statements and campaign materials found candidates in 41 of 62 competitive congressional races seeking some distance from Trump ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
The candidates have largely criticized or diverged from Trump on individual issues rather than repudiated his broader agenda. The findings suggest an effort to attract independent voters while avoiding a direct break with their party leader.
Do not be fooled, these shit heads had pleanty of opportunities to push back against Trump, but took none of them. This is just crocodile tears and desperation.
Don’t rely on anyone else, get out to vote them out.
The GOP shouldn’t even be allowed to exist after everything they’ve done under Trump, let alone Bush Jr. or Reagan.
At this point I’d fully support an amendment to ban their party and arrest its representatives en masse. America is long overdue for a mass denazification
This is the beginning of the turn. All part of Thiel’s plan to get his puppet as president for 10 years. Regardless of who wins the midterms, Trump will either be impeached and removed from office or 25th amendmented after January 20, 2027, so that JD Vance will be eligible to serve 2.5 terms.
I doubt he’ll be convicted and removed after impeachment unless Dems are actually somehow able to get a supermajority. I doubt they’ll get a supermajority.

That’s my strong opinion as well. It’s too soon to tell, but neither his controllers nor his inner circle are known for their high moral values and/or being above that. Every single one of those motherfuckers would do the deed without hesitation, given the right circumstances.
But that’s not all. Add the amount of projection they do with the decades of right-wing murder conspiracies they’re still trying to throw at the Clintons and others, and I’d actually put money on this being the chosen means to the end. “Et tu, Brute?” will come back to bite him.
It doesn’t matter how rich you are: when you are no longer useful, you are just trash to be taken out. He was only ever their demagogue. This whole “the cruelty is the point” sociopathic way of being for his high-level controllers isn’t going to suddenly sprout a conscience just because it’s his neck on the block next. When they’re done with him, they’ll take him out themselves.
And when they do take him out, that bobble-headed blonde he keeps to tickle his diaper might shed a genuine tear as she waits for the will to be read, but the rest of them will just start to jockey and then openly battle for the crown they all personally believe is their own by right: the presidency. And just like Trump, at NO point will the benefit of this country nor the American people be considered.

This is the new version of ‘shifting to the middle’ for general election. Gotta love Trump in the primaries, because that’s still 2/3 of the GOP; gotta be a maverick in the general, because Trump-haters are 2/3 of the population.
The MAGA family I have, have stopped mentioning Trump at all on Facebook. They still post trash but as far as Trump goes, it’s silent.

Now in conversation they do this weird like tail between their legs thing where they kinda talk bad about him, but never too much and act like he betrayed them.
I’ve really only responded with a like “well, the rest of us knew. Why didn’t you ever listen when people warned you?” At best they just give a disgruntled yeah and whatever. They’ll vote for him again in 2028 and not think anything of it. They’re idiots and their brains are rotten

They can pretend at distancing all they want – just as they pretend at having consciences and an interest in the welfare of this country – but it’s like them saying they’re separating the piss out of the swimming pool, or the syphilis out of the chancre, or the rot out of the corpse.
