I’m much happier using homebrew and pip to install things. If I absolutely need to modify system files, I’ll use rpm-ostree.
I feel like it’s been a good thing that my first instinct isn’t to modify system files anymore.

Idk dude, sounds like you have unrealistic expectations for a $700 mini gaming box. (Not including RAMmageddon)

Yeah no, lol

I bought a Steam Machine for this exact use case, and it’s been pretty sweet. Especially since it can do 4k video decoding. I have it set up to start a Jellyfin server and client when I launch it through steam. Also VacuumTube has been a life saver.

I have a 4k LG TV from around 2020 and it doesn’t have a microphone.

Yeah, I thought that was the case. But there has to be a way to see what games you have previously played.

Wait, really? You lost your cloud data?

I seriously predict them contributing to wine, or at least making their own fork. Because their strategy is almost completely OS agnostic at this point. Even offering Dot Net Core on Linux natively.
How easy would it be for them? “Hey Copilot, convert these NT calls to Linux Calls” and your done.

Bazzite is just right for my daily driver. I was hopping around different arch distros for a while, but I had some really weird encounters with btrfs and not being able to recover after kernel upgrades. Happened to me 3 times in the span of 2 years.

I can’t believe they somehow made an OS worse than Vista, and they’re just doubling down!?!?

I’ve been saying this since the release of WSL, but Microsoft has everything to gain from switching to the Linux kernel. Even back then senior devs were being laid off, and quality kept backsliding.
Fiscally, why would they want to maintain a whole ass kernel and OS layer when they could probably get away with some sort of custom Atomic Fedora distro?
It’s only exacerbated by AI slop now. Their NT team will continue to shrink, and they’ll be left with no other options.

I can neither confirm nor deny these claims

That’s it. JavaScript was a mistake. Time to go back to HTML only pages

Okay, since I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet, you can block shorts using ublock origin. You can block pretty much any component on any website.
No idea what syncthing is, are there issues with the brew version? Looks pretty straight forward.
