I’d say it’s almost the only factor that matters at this point. The US has lost a significant amount of their soft power, but at the end of the day the amount of money we dump into the military industrial complex buys us hard power.

New to updating Linux…

Is there a way to upgrade from 26.04 to 26.10 without reinstalling everything? I have a plex server I would prefer to not re-index if I can help it.

Bonus points if it reinstalls GNOME along side my KDE Plasma desktop environment. Can’t decide on which desktop environment I like more but the Kubuntu look is slightly jank after I uninstalled GNOME which generally feels more polished imo.

My thought was if I lose all the the things I like about Android, why would I not be in the more cohesive ecosystem?

I use Linux for gaming and Mac OS for work. I waited years for Android/chromeOS to catch up, but Google can’t even get a messaging app/video chat app right.

The day memory cards and removable batteries come back I’ll think about leaving.

I second this opinion. I have a 9070XT and it’s fantastic on Linux. It’s the best card AMD has to offer right now and more than good enough for my use case.

I have it plugged into an LG C3 OLED and it works great. I wouldn’t go back to Nvidia unless they worked seamlessly on Linux.

I use both. SteamOS on my SD OLED, and Bazzite on a gaming PC. I don’t notice a difference because all I use the machines for is gaming.

I eventually moved to Kubuntu from Bazzite because it was easier to manage my media servers. I’m not a huge fan of Bazzite’s quadlet system.

But for 99% of my use case the two systems were identical.

Man, that’s such a bummer to hear. If only there was a Linux alternative.
