No, but I for one find it familiar.
what does the community actually expect from devs
I don’t think the average self-hoster actually realises what’s going on in the dev community. ‘Vibe coding’ is very different from AI-assisted workflows. All but the most die-hard devs are using AI in some way.
‘No AI whatsoever’ is unrealistic and if that’s your red line you’re gonna see a smaller and smaller pool of things you can download and use.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Why use Proxmox over Podman or Docker?English
31·17 days ago• Yes, but I also use podman on another machine.
• Proxmox server hosts LXC’s and a few VMs.
• Proxmox makes it extremely easy to run and manage containerised workloads. Set it up in a flash and it runs happily, no intervention necessary. Podman containers on the other hand can be tricky to set up, but I prefer the controls I have on that machine. If it needs to be secure I Podman it, if not I just stick it in a Proxmox LXC.
Makes sense but I didn’t see it coming.
I’m still using an old Apple TV. I’m not happy about it but haven’t found a good replacement yet.
There’s a few interesting options for software in this thread. In terms of hardware - maybe a NUC or something? Would have to be small, quiet and relatively cheap.
Modern problems require modern solutions.

I thought I’d take a shortcut and use AI to help me setup an arch thing I’m working on. Jokes on me, took two days and in the end the thing was so fucked its irrecoverable. What a waste of a weekend.
I just got it cause I like how it looks
Dont blame you it they are very sexy
I had no idea you could narrow the filters down to 3.5" bays 😅. Cheers for that!
I like this idea but not keen to go as far as buying a 3D printer.
I might look for something that will hold 4 drives with potential for that kind of expansion later on though.
If you are at home go with #1
I’m at home but networking/firewalling does my tits in - #2 for me I think 😅

Careful, Claude is very sensitive these days. Might want to add ‘please’ and ‘thankyou’.
